Pre-Prosthetic Alveolar Reconstructive Surgery
In some instances, your dental technician or dentist will refer you to our dental surgeon to have some bony growths (called tori or exostoses) removed from your jaw prior to fabrication of a removable denture to allow proper seating of your denture.
If these bony growths are left inside your jaw and a denture is made, it may make seating of the denture very uncomfortable and this may lead to pain, ulcers and rubbing against the gums.
Dr. Goubrial will work closely with your referring dentist or technician to plan your surgical procedure, including the timing. During the consultation, Dr. Goubrial will discuss with you whether this procedure is suitable to be performed in the chair or if it will require a general anaesthetic.
